Supporting Full Engagement in Work and Life
Taking care of oneself is the first step toward achieving balance. When stress
closes in and you feel overwhelmed, even the smallest tasks can seem impossible.
Often the sense of humor disappears and impatience and frustration takes over.
Sound familiar? Let the WorkLife Office help. It is not possible to put 36
hours in your day, so sometimes the balance process starts with a re-examination
of personal values and an assesment of how your current time is spent. Change
can start with only five minutes a day for yourself. WorkLife services include:
- Individual consultation, departmental and small group presentations on
personal balance
- Referrals to other appropriate campus resources
- Information on flextime and other workplace options
- Recreation and fitness opportunities (campus and community)
- Personal money management; home assistance resources (while recuperating,
etc.)
- Voter registration forms, volunteer opportunities
- Passport renewal-by-mail forms, resources for on-campus passport photos
- Local community and transportation information
